Day 16 — Literature Review

What I Learned

Today, we worked on our literature review and the rough draft for our paper. We began working on the introduction and the abstract of the rough draft for our paper using a template that Blessing made. We were each assigned different sections of the abstract and the introduction. After we completed that we put our work together and went through the different sections to see how it all flowed together. We then went through each section and worked on it together to make sure it was readable, and easy to understand. After we began to work on our literature review where we were split up into teams of 2 and given different subsections to work on. I was paired with Kosi and we began on our first section which was the most important section according to Blessing. We had to split the work up amongst ourselves and we had to go through the spreedsheet of papers we had been collecting since the beginning of the program to do our section. We still aren’t done with our first section. Today will be the beginning of us working on our paper but the only day we are working on it this week.

Reflection

Today was a pretty good day. For the first day of us being in our labs in person I had a good time. We cracked a lot of jokes and got to know eachother much more. We also got to collaborate easier since it was easiest for us to sit next to eachother and share a computer rather than trying to share a screen on zoom. We also got to help eachother with things that weren’t related to our project during our breaks like our resumes, finding tech conferences, signing up for other tech programs, and learning new websites to use to learn new coding languages. I also enjoyed getting more hands on help from Blessing and my group mates on some of the papers I read. I also enjoyed talking with the other people in our program during lunch and getting to know them as well. I throughly enjoyed today and I can’t wait to see what tomorrow has in store.
